Early Access Launch: August 9th
Story Mode/Full game: Aimed for December.
PC, for desktop or VR (both work so anyone can play!)
If the game does well, I plan to port it to Xbox and PlayStation.
SCP: Blackout is a Desktop/VR surreal horror game with a branching narrative. As a new D-Class transferred to Site-50, you must decide what you want to do as you navigate though the facility trying to survive various malicious SCP entities, determining what choices to make, and collecting pieces of the story to truly understand what is going on.
In story mode, ss you play you can listen to Dr. Millar or Dr. Slate, each with their own motives and goals. Each choice and path you make effects the facility and playthrough, leading to many different possible endings. Each time you play, more of the story will be uncovered, and maybe the best choices aren’t the ones so obviously presented.
For quick action an hard-core horror filled fast rounds with friends, you can try the Survival Gamemode, where you are dropped in with the full facility to explore and escape from with smaller story with Dr. Harman.
VR (Vive and Oculus) AND normal desktop.
An immersive horror atmosphere
Branching narrative with semi-rouge-like features to ensure every play through is different.
Different story lines resulting in eight different endings.
Choices that impact the game world itself, rewarding or punishing the player for their actions.
Over 10 SCP monsters to learn and evade.
Different back stories on SCPs to collect and learn about through written, audio, and computer logs.
Secondary story arcs and mysteries to uncover about the site, the true motives of Dr. Slate and Dr. Millar, and more.
Tons of secrets to find and keep you guessing.
Q: Is SCP: Blackout multiplayer?
-A: No, this game is single player only. But after this game is finished, I do have a separate SCP multiplayer game planned.
Q: What SCPs are in the game?
A: There are currently 3 main SCPs in the game that tie heavily to the story, all new creations. There are also quite a few secondary ones with less story involvement, also new. In the final version, there should a ton of SCPs as I continually add more.
Q: Will there be Steam Achievements and Trading Cards?
Q: What all will this be on?
A: This will be on PC, but if it does well enough I would like to port it to at least Xbox, and then the other consoles.
Q: What are you using to make this?
A: I’m using Unreal Engine 4, the best game engine around. I might be biased, though.
Q: What does the game symbol mean? It looks like the normal SCP logo, but different.
A: It’s a logo both for the game, and in the game it’s for a special section, Sublab-11. It was created for me by TheVolgun. He is also an amazing illustrator, in addition to his awesome voice work!
